Clarissa doesn't realize when she takes a video of the man on the park bench surrounded by birds he's feeding, that he is a burn victim. But when she views the tape later, she sees his disfigurement and worse, sees him staring right at her! So she goes back and tries to make amends, a much more difficult proposition that she could ever have expected.

Michael Bigelow Dixon, literary manager at Actors Theatre of Louisville (now at the Guthrie) called The Unintended Video "a deeply felt play that moves its characters a huge distance through a very small action — understanding. The issue of invasion of privacy is explored in human terms of apology and forgiveness."
